Dreams and goals are a life-long journey…there is never a finish line for the things we aspire to in life. When we reach one dream, another one unfolds from the new life we’re living, and our potential grows with every goal we reach.
Today I’m sitting back and reflecting on what it is we truly must embody in order to keep accomplishing our dreams. Here are my top three:
1. You must believe in your own voice more than anyone else’s - Have you ever experienced voicing a desire or a dream and right away, more often than not, the people around you tells you how hard it’s going to be or how impossible it is? People will have no problem telling you what they think, and most of the time it will deflate you, diminish the energy you had for your vision, and make you think you must be crazy. But no matter how many times this happens (and trust me, it’ll happen A LOT), there is still a voice within you that knows it is possible. Our job is to spend enough quiet time listening to ourselves so that we can hear and heed this voice. At the end of the day, you get to choose which voice to listen to, and trust me, your OWN self has never betrayed you, and will only have your best interest at heart. You must believe in your own true voice more than what anyone else says.
2. You must be willing to keep planting the seeds - TRUST…. our biggest inner challenge. Are you courageous and patient enough to keep planting your seeds before you can see the fruits of your labor? I think this is perhaps the scariest thing. When do we know to keep going and when do we say ‘ok, enough is enough’ and switch tracks? Some people say when plan A doesn’t work, there are 25 more letters in the alphabet, and some say not having plan B is the only plan. Both point to the same thing: never give up, you keep going, stay your course, and in all good timing, you will harvest and manifest because you have planted the seeds. Always keep taking action.
3. You better become best friends with tenacity and discipline - And last, but definitely not least, you sure better become friends fast with tenacity and discipline because your success depends on it. There is no substitute for consistent hard work and laser sharp focus. I might not have to go into an office and pull a 9 to 5, but my alarm is still set for 6:30am everyday, ready to work. When you do work you are passionate about and you have a burning desire to accomplish your dreams, you hone in on your goal and you don’t let up until you’ve done it.
